The objectives include providing a structure to facilitate the creation of art in all disciplines in the community, promoting and exhibiting art and cultural works produced by Ross Valley artists and promoting art education in the community and schools. Persons from the entire Ross Valley are encouraged to apply.

    Welcome the Lunar New Year with the famous Lion Dancers of the Marin Chinese Cultural Association. Chinese Lion Dance is an important part of the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese people all over the world. The Lion Dance is thought to cleanse darkness and bring good luck, prosperity and happiness.

Baby and Toddler Storytime at the San Anselmo Library is a fun way to introduce your baby or young child to a wide range of high-quality picture books, songs, poetry, and nursery rhymes carefully selected to satisfy their developmental needs. No registration is required for any of our storytimes, but space is limited to the first 50 children and their caregivers. For Monday 10:30 am storytime, tickets will be handed out 15 minutes before the program begins.

  5. Art Talk Tuesday! Pierre Bonnard: Painting Arcadia

    Carol Porter, a docent from the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, will present a talk on Pierre Bonnard: Painting Arcadia, on view at the Legion of Honor from February 6 to May 15, 2016. This special exhibition features more than sixty works spanning the artist’s career, from his early Nabi masterpieces and experimental photography to the late interior scenes for which he is best known. Pierre Bonnard: Painting Arcadia will offer a fresh interpretation of Bonnard's repertoire and a reconsideration of the artist as one of the foremost practitioners of modernism.

    Connect with your neighbors through Tower Readers, a new collaboration between The San Anselmo Public Library and the San Francisco Theological Seminary Library. From current concerns like texting while driving to the history of Native Americans, the club will offer something for all interests. We’ll read a selected title each month, then come together to share our ideas and impressions. Everyone is welcome to attend. We meet on the second Thursday of the month at 2pm. Join us for light refreshments and conversation on The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.

    A One Book One Marin program In The Martian, Mark Watney survived on Mars through knowledge, ingenuity, and preparedness. Do you know what to do to survive outdoors? Knowledge is power and preparation is key – learn how to prepare both physically and mentally for a variety of outdoor emergencies and avoid your chances of being trapped in a survival situation in this 90 minute workshop led by an REI instructor.
