Ross Valley Downtown Sewer Lining Project

The Ross Valley Sanitary District (RVSD) is scheduled to begin a project involving the lining of existing sanitary sewer pipe in the downtown San Anselmo area. The work schedule, which is being listed as “tentative” while final details are being confirmed, includes cleaning and lining several existing sanitary sewer pipe segments along San Anselmo Avenue (between San Rafael Ave and Ross Avenue), Kientz Lane, Library Place and Tunstead Avenue (from Library Place to San Anselmo Avenue).

The work will take place in three distinct phases:

1. Pipe cleaning.
a. When: This work is tentatively scheduled for July 31, 2017 through August 4, 2017. Working hours in this area will be between 7:00am and 7:00pm Monday- Friday. Work will be completed early (by 4pm) on August 1st.
b. Parking Impact: There will be a loss of up to 3 parking stalls at most sanitary sewer manholes. Each manhole location requires up to 2 sessions of about 2.5 hours each. The contractor is required to coordinate any loss of private parking directly with the parking owner.
c. Access to the property: Access to properties will be maintained at all times
d. Water usage impact: None

2. Pipe repairs:
a. When: This work is tentatively scheduled for August 14, 2017 through August 25, 2017. Working hours in this area will be between 7:00am and 7:00pm Monday- Friday.
b. Parking Impact: There will be a temporary reduction in available parking spaces at both the public and private lots on Kientz Lane as well as a temporary reduction in curbside parking and private lot parking on San Anselmo Ave north of the fire station. The contractor will work directly with property owners for any effect on private parking spots.
c. Access to the property: Access to properties will be maintained at all times
d. Water usage impact: None

3. Pipe lining:
a. When: This work is tentatively scheduled for September. Detailed dates to be posted on the blog, the Town website and issued directly to businesses as soon as they become available. Working hours in this area will be between 7:00pm and 8:00am Monday- Friday. This phase is expected to take 18 days.
b. Parking Impact: for night work only, the contractor will be blocking parking spots on one side of the road for a couple of blocks at a time. Parking spots will not be taken until businesses are closed or other arrangements have been coordinated with the business owner. During the morning, a maximum loss of 6 spots is expected.
c. Access to the property: Access to properties will be maintained at all times
d. Water usage impact: For most businesses water usage impact will be none. However, a few businesses may be effected for one late night/morning only. The contractor has already reached out to these businesses directly and will continue to work closely with them.

4. Manhole repairs:
a. When: This work is tentatively scheduled for September. Detailed dates will be posted on the blog, the town website and provided directly to businesses when they become available. Working hours in this area will be between 7:00am and 7:00pm Monday- Friday. This phase is expected to take one week.
b. Parking Impact: The contractor will be blocking no more than 2 parking spots for two days per location
c. Access to the property: Access to properties will be maintained at all times
d. Water usage impact: None
Additionally, to accelerate the project, the contractor will be parking equipment on San Anselmo on the block between Ross and Mariposa. If you have any questions please call Project Manager DeAnn Duhn at (920) 539-3812 or Construction Manager Andy Deal at (415)787-3002.
