FEMA Community Rating System

The Community Rating System (CRS) is a voluntary program that encourages and rewards communities for going beyond the minimum requirements of FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program. By participating in CRS, the Town earns flood insurance premium reduction for its residents. These reductions range from 5% to 45% depending on our CRS classification, which is determined by the number of activities that the Town gets credited for.

In an effort to ease communication and inform its citizenry, San Anselmo is hosting the majority of its CRS activity documentation here. Some information, such as individual flood insurance policies, is protected by the Privacy Act of 1974 and thus is not made public here.

The following information is organized according to the 2013 CRS Coordinator's Manual.
