[ARCHIVED] Drake Blvd. Renaming Discussion Monday, January 25 at 6pm

Supervisors Katie Rice and Denis Rodoni will be hosting a community Zoom on Monday, January 25 at 6pm for residents/businesses along the unincorporated communities along the SFD corridor regarding road renaming. The Zoom meeting will include a summary of outreach to date, presentation of the research gathered (e.g. cost, impact to businesses/residents), historical information on naming of road, and a Q/A panel.

The County and four jurisdictions with road naming authority (Fairfax, San Anselmo, Ross, Larkspur) are in the process of engaging their respective communities on the re-naming issue following a community wide listening session in July, a learning session in August, and committee work during the fall to determine costs, process and answer common questions generated by residents.

The January 25 zoom is tailored for unincorporated area. The Supervisors will be holding additional community level “zooms” to hear from residents on the corridor in February.  A hearing is tentatively scheduled for March 9 for Board of Supervisors to discuss/direct on whether to move forward with renaming for the roadway within unincorporated Marin.
