On September 20, the State of California released the California Redistricting Data, which is based on U.S. 2020 Census data and now accounts for the population in state prison facilities to be counted at their last home address. Now that the County has the official redistricting data, there will be four public hearings this fall for public input and consideration of new district maps. The first hearing will be October 12, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. At this hearing the public is encouraged to share their thoughts on the criteria to be used for redistricting, especially communities of interest. Tell us where your community is located and what brings you together. Let us know if you think it is a good idea that your community remains in the same district, or if your community should be in a different district. In addition to speaking at the October 12 public hearing, the public is encouraged to submit their own district maps or written testimony for consideration.
