A Time of Gratitude “This is not the year to get everything you want. This is the year to appreciate everything you have.” – Anonymous As communities around the country celebrate the Thanksgiving weekend and businesses prepare to welcome locals and visitors alike, we are entering a holiday season unlike any we have ever experienced.
Our families are bound together through times of joy and times of grief. They shape us, instill the values that guide us, lift us up, and make possible all that we achieve. I am beyond grateful for my wife, Jen, and my two children, Sinead and Cavan. So during this season, I will be giving special thanks for my family -- for the wisdom, support, and love they bring.
Like many of you, I will not be able to celebrate in-person with all of my loved ones this year. However, I am grateful for the sacrifice that so many of us are making to fight this pandemic. Jen and I will count our blessings, and give thanks for our family and friends, even if from a distance.
In this season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to express my sincere thanks to you. This year, you have truly given of yourselves. The coming weeks and months will not be without hardship, but by practicing the safe gathering recommendations from the County of Marin Health Officer, the sooner we will be together again.
With warmest wishes for a happy holiday season from my family to yours,
Dave Donery, Town Manager Town of San Anselmo

Also...Shop Local EverydayThe Town would like to encourage community members to make a special effort this year to support our local restaurants, shops and service providers during this holiday season. This year has been incredibly difficult for our local merchants, making it critical that we all do our part.
When you eat, shop or use a local service, you are investing in our local economy.
Thank you for supporting our local businesses, and from all of us at the Town of San Anselmo, we wish you and your family a happy and safe holiday season!

Celebrate the Holidays Safely Public health officers have made their recommendations for how we can stay safe during the holidays by limiting travel and large gatherings to be with family and friends which means the holidays will be different this year. If you decide to host a gathering—keep it small, keep it outdoors, and keep it safe. Pods gathering can accomplish this by:
- Maintaining at least 6 feet of physical distance from people not in your household at all times, whether you’re sitting or standing. More distance is safer.
- Wearing face coverings at all times, including when talking to others. You can remove face covering briefly to eat, drink, or take medication as long as you stay at least 6 feet away from everyone outside your own household. More distance is safer.
- Remaining outside as much as possible. If you go inside, open windows and doors to increase ventilation.
- Washing hands with soap and water often. If not available, use hand sanitizer.
- Serving shared food safely. If it is not possible to use single-serve disposable containers, food, and beverages must be served by a person who washes or sanitizes their hands frequently and wears a face covering. If you are dropping off home-prepared food or drink gifts, be sure to wear a mask and disinfect or wash your hands thoroughly.
Continue to take precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and consider these recommendations as you make plans for the upcoming holiday season.

Council Approves Reimagine Creek Park ProjectCommunity-led plaza and bridge design workshops to begin in early 2021At their meeting on Tuesday, November 24th, the Town Council unanimously approved the next steps in the Reimagine Creek Park project. The approval authorized staff to provide information to the County Flood Control District in relation to the structural and flood design for the San Anselmo Flood Risk Reduction (SAFFR) project. The elements under consideration on Tuesday included the creation of several project components including; a plaza on the San Anselmo Avenue side of the creek, a pedestrian bridge crossing the creek from the redwood grove to San Anselmo Avenue, along with the placement of a flood wall in the plaza area. The staff report, attachments including plans and renderings, along with a full video of the meeting can be found HERE. The Town will conduct a community engagement process to gather public input of the design of the plaza and bridge areas. Look for information on these input opportunities in early 2021.
