Hilldale Pocket Park Concept and Community Survey
The Town is considering developing a small area into a "pocket park" near Hilldale and Jordan Avenues. Neighborhood leaders have expressed interest in developing this small, unused portion of Jordan Ave at the intersection of Hilldale Avenue into a community space.
The Town has agreed to explore this possibility, and is asking for the community's input. A survey has been created to gather public sentiment regarding this project and we are hopeful that you will share your opinion. CLICK HERE to take the survey. Following up on this survey, the Town plans to hold both on-site and virtual public meetings to discuss this project and gather additional public input. Please stay-tuned to the Town Manager's Weekly Newsletter for upcoming input opportunities.

For additional information about the public process relate to the pocket park, please email Ella Acker at eacker@townofsananselmo.org

PARKING for Live on the Avenue EventsIMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE SHAREEVENT AREA IS ON SAN ANSELMO AVENUE between Tunstead Ave and Tamalpais AveWe are all excited to kick-off four and a half months of weekend events in our historic downtown. A lot of effort goes into preparing and running these popular evening events. In an effort to strike a balance between allowing our small businesses to close out their days while maintaining as much customer parking as possible and providing enough time to allow cars to exit the area before the event begins at 6pm, the event area on San Anselmo Avenue will remain open for parking until 5:30pm each Friday and Saturday night beginning on June 3rd and ending on October 15th. In addition, there will be three 30 minute spaces available for retail customers in three separate convenient locations that are available from 4:30 to 6:00pm throughout the event series.
CLICK HERE for a downtown parking map.
IT CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION when a vehicle attempts to exit the event area after the event has started, so please help us keep these events safe by not parking in the event area on San Anselmo Avenue after 5:30pm.
Any vehicles remaining on San Anselmo Avenue between Tunstead and Tamalpais Avenues after 5:30pm will be ticketed and not allowed to leave the event area until 10pm.

WILDERNESS IMPRESSIONS JONATHAN BRAUN Exhibit Photography and Clay For the first time, TOWN BOOKS will host local artisan Jonathan Braun. Many of you know Jonathan as a life-long environmentalist. Now you can see his inspirational photography and pottery! Jonathan began making pottery at the age of twelve, and eventually built his own kiln. At sixteen, he was invited to join the San Francisco Association of Potter and Glass Blowers, the youngest artist ever accepted. As a photographer, Jonathan trained under his own father, famed photographer Ernie Braun. From a young age, he worked in the dark room and went on photo shoots with his dad. But they always turned to the wilderness for endless opportunities to find inspiration for their photography. ARTIST RECEPTION Friday, July 15, 5-7pm, refreshments served

JUNE: Fire-smart Landscaping Tips from UC Marin Master GardenersClean up Zone Zero – Within 5 Feet of Your Home
- Clean-up areas where wind eddies deposit leaf and plant litter along the perimeter of your home, on the roof, and combustibles under decks.
- Clear dead debris from flowerbeds close to the house and any combustible mulches.
- Remove dead, damaged and diseased plant branches, trees and shrubs. Dispose of the material in your green waste bin.
- Any vegetation should be pruned back and kept hydrated especially along exit routes. Placement and maintenance of plants are more important than type of plant.
- Move common combustible fire hazards away from the area immediately surrounding your home including brooms, rakes, plastic bins, wood furniture, furniture cushions, wood piles, and natural fiber door mats. Move these items as far away from the house as possible – or indoors if a nearby wildfire threatens.
