Thursday, Jan. 11th - Drake Student Center

The Ross Valley Sanitary District (RVSD) is planning a large gravity sewer improvement project that includes the construction of 1.4 miles of sewer for relief of wet-weather flows and rehabilitation of old pipe. These sewers are generally located on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. from Mountain View Ave. to Broadmoor Ave., on Broadmoor  from Sir Francis Drake to Meadowcroft Dr., on Meadowcroft from Broadmoor to Butterfield Rd., and Butterfield from Meadowcroft to Kenrick Ave.

This work will be performed in phases and the District is working closely with the Town, the Ross Valley School District, San Domenico School, the Sleepy Hollow Homeowners Association, the Ross Valley Fire Department and Marin Transit in an effort to complete the project with the least amount of disruption. The District is sending a mailing out next week to residents surrounding the affected areas with additional details, a draft schedule and other important information.

RVSD is holding an Open House-style public meeting about the project on Thursday, January 11th. The meeting begins at 6:30pm, with presentations at 7pm and 8pm. The Open House will take place at the Sir Francis Drake High School Student Center at 1327 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. (behind the gym, adjacent to the baseball field).

Elders' Garden Discussion for Memorial Park Master Plan

At the October 24, 2017 Town Council meeting, the Council approved the framework for a Memorial Park Master Plan (MPMP). Concerns were raised by members of the public related to the proposed changes to the Elder's garden area of the park. In response, the Town Council appointed a subcommittee to focus on working through these issues in an effort to finalize the master plan.

The Council would like to invite all interested individuals to an upcoming meeting of the subcommittee to discuss the design of the Elders' Garden in relation to the Memorial Park Master Plan.  This meeting will be held on Monday, January 8th at 6:00pm in the Mt. Tam Room at the Isabel Cook Community Center. The goal of the meeting is to discuss the changes to the Elder's Garden as proposed in the master plan, and complete the community’s vision for the park which will lead the process toward a final, preferred plan. Once this process has been completed, staff will bring a presentation to the Town Council.
