Matt Jaffe

Matt Jaffe to play at Country Fair Day!

We are excited to announce that Matt Jaffe will be playing at this year’s Country Fair Day in Creek Park from 12-3pm.!

MATT JAFFE is a singer/songwriter from San Francisco. Cutting his teeth on open mics around the Bay Area, Matt started taking music (a little bit) more seriously when JERRY HARRISON of Talking Heads offered to produce his first record.  Since then, Matt has churned out more songs than he can remember the words to, oversaturated the market with gigs (opening for the likes of MAVIS STAPLES, WILCO, and BLUES TRAVELER), and collaborated with the likes of CHUCK PROPHET and TOM HIGGENSON of the Plain White T's.  Having toured the country playing places like The Fillmore and your local hipster's basement, Matt is back in the studio with his band, readying his third record and preparing to bring the guitar gospel back to the masses.

"Jaffe, young and full of raw musical power and drive, has developed a kind of neo-punk style that recalls Joe Strummer and The Clash. And that's a very good thing"

Parking Lot

UPDATE: MAGNOLIA AVE AND PARKING LOT PROJECT

Funded in part through an agreement with the State Water Resources Control Board, the Town is repaving and re-configuring the Magnolia Avenue Parking Lot.   To help filter storm water runoff, bio-retention landscaping will be installed, along with landscaping, Magnolia trees and overhead lighting.  With help from the Transportation Authority of Marin, the number of electric vehicle charging stations will be doubled.  The parking meters will be replaced with a single pay station.

Team Ghilotti and their subcontractors have been working diligently since work began on July 16th.  The parking lot is expected to be closed to the public for about 8 weeks. Access to 25 Tamalpais back driveway, Taco Jane’s back lot, and the private Downtown Storage lot off Kientz Lane will be available as work allows.

During this time, parking lot users will be directed to other Town lots at Pine Street and Creek Park, San Rafael Avenue as well as other nearby side-streets - Tamalpais Avenue, Magnolia Avenue and Tunstead Avenue.  The employee lot behind Town Hall is open to the public after 5 pm on weekdays, and all weekend.

For information about this project, please contact Scott Schneider, Assistant Public Works Director, at sschneider@townofsananselmo.org or 415-258-4653.

Thank you for your patience while we complete this important project.

The San Anselmo Chamber of Commerce is bringing back the popular Movies in Creek Park event series starting this Saturday. The movies will run in Creek Park on Saturday Nights from June 2nd until October 27th (with the exception extreme weather conditions and on July 21st for the Beatles Tribute Concert). Seating begins around 7pm, with a pre-movie slide show, announcements, trivia and nightly raffle.  Movies begin when it becomes dark enough and will generally run two hours. The films are generally acceptable for all audiences, but parental guidance and child supervision is always recommended. To view the list of films, CLICK HERE.
Film genres will include Action, Animation, SciFi, Classics, Comedies and Feel-good Favorites. The 2018 season movies were selected from an exhaustive list of requests from members of the community, merchants and business owners, then cross-referenced and licensed by the Motion Picture Association for public viewing.
