Avoiding Scams, Fraud, and Identity Theft

A 2019 study by the University of Southern California asserts that financial elder abuse makes up 55% of all elder abuse. In Marin County alone, financial abuse cases make up 32% of all referrals to Adult Protective Services. Nationwide, it’s estimated that only 1 in 10 cases is reported. Beth Fernbacher from the Marin Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST) will enlighten and educate on how to protect older adults against common financial scams.
